Notice is hereby given that a meeting of Digby Parish Council is to be held on Wednesday 13th March 2024 commencing at 7pm, in Digby War Memorial Hall for the purpose of considering and resolving business as set out in this agenda. County and District Councillors, the press and members of Digby electorate are cordially invited to join the meeting.

Public Forum

The public forum will proceed from 7pm for up to 15 mins, when members of the public may ask questions or make short statements to the council.  This time allocation can be extended by resolution of the council.

District & County Councillors' Matters

After the Public Forum each councillor will provide a 5-minute report on the business of their relevant council

 

If none of the above are in attendance the Parish Council will resolve to commence the full council meeting as soon as possible.

1.Chairman’s Opening Remarks (24/033).

a)  Welcome.

2.  Apologies for Absence & Co-option (24/034)

a) To receive apologies for absence and reasons given. 

b) To co-opt to fill the 3 vacancies on the council.

3.  Declarations of Pecuniary Interest & Applications of Dispensation (24/035)

a) To receive declarations of interest under the Localism Act 2011 – being any pecuniary interest in agenda items not previously recorded on Members’ Register of Interests and any written requests for dispensation.

4.  Signing of the Minutes (24/036)

a) To resolve to accept the notes of the Parish Council Meeting held on Monday 14th February 2023 as a true and accurate record of that meeting.

a) Planning Applications Received.

6. General Parish Matters (24/038)

a) To carry out the annual review of the Asset Register 

b) To review the insurance cover.

c)  To consider the report from the Clerk on recent training she received. 

d)  To consider the applications and employ a litter picker.  

7.  Highways (24/039)

a) To report any pot holes or Highways issues.

b)  Update for the request for a new street light on B1188

c)  To consider any further update regarding Public Footpath No.5 and discuss correspondence from the Countryside Officer regarding upgrading stiles.

d)  To discuss the new speed limits on B1188, should the speed be 40mph from Ruskington to Digby, as requested by a parishioner.

e)  To comment on the Springwell Solar Farm public consultation.

8.  The Village Hall (24/040)

a) To acknowledge receipt of the minutes from the latest meeting of the committee, and any comments, if required.

b)  To elect a representative for the village hall committee.

9.  Drainage (24/041)

a) To discuss any issued raised from the recent public meeting, 26th Feb on Flooding 

i) Consider dates for a meeting with outside agencies to consider further improvements to reduce flooding.

ii) Update on the Emergency Plan Guide and to consider purchasing equipment for the emergency box/boxes.

10. Playing Field, Play Areas and Village General (24/042)

a)  Report of Monthly inspection of Play Equipment.

b)  Update on the improvements to the playing field road and the Dug Out

c)  To consider the ground maintenance prices from MalcFirth for this coming season.

d)  To review the ground rents for the playing field and allotments.

e)  To consider improving the drainage on the Eastern boundary of the field.

f)  Update on the training for councillors to inspect the play equipment.

a) To report on any updates from the Allotment Committee.

a) To note bank balances and approve bank reconciliation.
