There is to be an Extraordinary DIGBY PARISH COUNCIL MEETING to be held on Friday 8th May 2026 commencing at 3.00pm, in St Thomas Church, Digby.

This meeting has been called to update and consider the impact of the sudden increase in price for the planned new play equipment, due to inflation increases in relation to the USA and Iran situation, and how the it affects the awarded grant. The grant of £86,390.00 has been awarded and cannot be increased. The items to be discussed are proposals to maintain the grant and to be able to continue with the planned replacement of all the equipment.

a. To receive apologies.
3. Play Equipment (26/067)
a. To consider and approve a proposal to keep within the budget of the original grant application. It is proposed to reduce the toddlers play area slightly, resulting in the need for less rubber surface and fencing, and, also reduce the number of grass mats in the junior area (all keeping within safety guidance). This proposal covers the first increase from the new financial year of £4,922.00.
b. To approve a payment of £1,750.00 from the Councils budget to cover the second and sudden increase, due to the inflation of the oil prices, which have now increased the cost of the equipment from the contractor.
c. To note the VAT will need to be paid by the council, to the play equipment contractors, as the grant only covers the nett cost of the equipment.
